SEA OF MARIUPOL /
МОРЕ МАРІУПОЛЯ

Sea of Mariupol is a program that was created to celebrate and commemorate the city of Mariupol, Ukraine, with a series of public community-oriented events in Portland and beyond. These events raise awareness of what’s happening in Ukraine and encourage personal connection across different life experiences through creative engagement. In addition to creating awareness and understanding, the events and activities invite folks to financially support Mariupol and its people.

Mariupol is a city by the sea of Azov which since the Russian invasion of February 24, 2022, was almost completely destroyed and is currently occupied by the Russian troops. The Russian army keeps its attempts to advance in the east and the south of Ukraine taking thousands civilian lives and forcibly displacing people from their homes and land.
